Learn more about how Dr. Reinisch has been changing the lives of children for over 30 years.

John Reinisch, MD is one of world's leading pediatric plastic surgeons and an innovator in his field. He is currently Director of Craniofacial and Pediatric Plastic Surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, one of America's best hospitals. Dr. Reinisch is internationally renowned for his innovative treatment of children born with a large variety of congenital and acquired deformities.   He pioneered many of the surgical techniques used today in children’s plastic surgery, including  suture-less wound closure, pediatric tissue expansion, outpatient cleft lip repair, pediatric Botox. and the very early correction of both vascular and pigmented birth marks.

Dr. Reinisch is known worldwide for his design and development of the Medpor ear reconstruction technique, which utilizes a porous implant, revolutionizing the treatment of microtia, a congenital deformity of one or both ears in which the outer ear is absent. Traditionally, a rib is used to make the new ear during several surgeries and is only available to older children. Dr. Reinisch’s method is performed on children as young as three years of age in a single outpatient surgery.  In developing this technique, Dr. Reinisch envisioned a new procedure that would save children and their families the discomfort of multiple surgeries and the emotional distress a facial deformity can cause.
